How It All Began

About 4 months ago we decided to sell our home. This opened up all kinds of possibilities. Should we move closer to our grandchildren? Should we move closer to our boat? Should we stay in the community that we have lived in for 33 years and just downsize?? Then a small idea took hold and we began to think about living on our boat and cruising. Now this is a dream that Dave has always had. As a matter of fact, in the 40 years we have been married there have been many times when both of us have thought about selling everything and taking off! Well, the time is now. We aren't getting any younger and the last two years of sailing have brought us such great pleasure that I have surprised even myself with the excitement and anticipation that I feel. So somewhere in the "getting rid of the big house and downsizing plan", a new plan has emerged. It is one thing to move to a smaller house, it is something all together different to downsize your LIFE. We are in the process now of selling those things that need our attention. This will take awhile. Right now, the big house is up for sale, this summer we will try to sell both our condos in Colorado. Hopefully, by November 2009 (end of hurricane season) we will take off. We continue to sail and improve our boat, our intro trip will be this month going down the coast of Texas to Brownsville and living on the boat for a month. We will keep you posted on our progress!!
